Here is the development of the new mega neighborhood of Bridge-Bonaventure, which has been stalled for years in difficult negotiations.
The City of Montreal is increasing the number of units allowed from 6,000 to 13,500.
As a bonus, it is maximizing the number of affordable and social housing units.

It is the sector that was once considered for the construction of a baseball stadium or even a new casino.
The City of Montreal is instead focusing on a new neighborhood largely shielded from real estate speculation.
"We have an exceptional piece of land next to the canal, next to downtown, and it needed to be densified," said Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante. "Our administration is coming forward with a project that has density and a large share of non-market housing. We will have 40 to 50% of non-market housing."
The City had originaslly planned to build 7,600 housing units, and the developers and the Greater Montreal Chamber of Commerce (CCMM) wanted a lot more.
A report from the CCMM even mentioned 15,000 units last year.In the end, 13,500 housing units will be built.
Several developers, already owners of multiple plots of land, will share the construction, including Devimco, Groupe Mach, Broccolini, and Groupe Petra.
